From Sweat Pink to team MEATBALLS!
I haven’t been feeling 100% this week. I think it’s partially due to a very non-relaxing weekend followed by one of those ready, set, GO super crazy weeks. With a LOT of added and unnecessary stress….
After a very hectic Friday, we had a BBQ to attend which ended kind of late. Then, we woke up early and the boyfriend and I headed up to Montara Mountain for a 7.8 mile run. It was hot, it was steep but it was fun. After our run, we ended up having a late linner at Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. By the time we got back, it was late-ish and we were stinky. We showered and relaxed a little before he got the great idea that we should go see a movie. Like right then and there. We rushed to get our butts there only to discover it was already sold out. Great. We trekked back home after a long wait for the bus. Once home, we curled up on the couch to watch more Planet Earth but I was out before it even really started.
And then on Sunday, just like a 3 year old he was waking me up before 7 am. I couldn’t figure out why. I kept shooing him away so I could back to sleep but could barely get any rest after that. I had all this anxiety. What is he doing? Why do I need to be awake at this hour? It’s SUNDAY! I got up about an hour later (still rather out of it and irritated) and we headed out for a 5 mile run. It was probably the quietest, most cranky 5 miles I’ve ever run. Ever. After our run, we were rushing off yet again for my parent’s house to celebrate Father’s Day.
We stopped at my fave fruit market on the way and picked up some goodies. Once there, my mom mentioned she focused so much on dessert that she had failed to make any apps. I decided to make vegan meatballs using Southwest Sunshine Burgers (check out the recipe here) and they turned out pretty great. Casey enjoyed them even before they were baked. Ha. Of course.
Anyway, now it’s Wednesday and I’m off to Charlotte for some SweatPink fun:
- Happy Hour @WoodenVine: sweatpink.eventbrite.com/
- Bootcamp: sweatpinkbootcamp.eventbrite.com/
And on Friday, I’m off to Denver for the Fitness and Health Bloggers Conference 2012. Really excited to meet with all the Sweat Pink Ambassadors who will also be there! HURRAY!

Mm those look good! I love food in the shape of balls – meatballs, risotto croquettes, donut holes, you name it…
I hate when people wake me up early on weekends. Actually, I just hate when people wake me up, period.
