my AHA moment, Barking Mad About Running

Posing for one of many Virtual Runs I do to help fellow runners Fundraise

My AHA moment happened last year, just about this time. I was training with a ‘friend’ to walk the SGK 3 Day for a Cure. She was a very unhappy person and being around her made me unhappy. In mid August she decided we shouldn’t be friends anymore. Explosively, rudely, devastatingly. I decided to skip the 3 Day, because the idea of sharing a tent with her made my crazy! I also decided to start doing all of the things I had wanted us to do together that she wouldn’t do. Like run. I decided to start the C25K program and run a Race for the Cure. Once I tackled that, I moved on to the C210K program. Halfway through I realized I could do anything I wanted to do and started training for a Half Marathon. A few people doubted I could do it, but I *knew* I could! I ran all throught the winter and spring, and in May I finished my first Half. Along the way I started treating my body better, eating better, losing 25 pounds over the course of the year. I still have 20 to go, but I know they will come off just as the first 25 did. I am now training for 3 Halfs that will earn me my Half Fanatic status, as well as th Disney Marathon. I am happy, stress free, and my husband and kid are happy and stress free. My anti-exercise hubby has even started running and doing crunches and push ups!

What started out as such a horribleĀ life altering moment, has become a wonderful like altering moment!

I am so thrilled to be able to share this with everyone as a SPA! Thank you!!!!

  1. Sometimes the best thing you can do is to get rid of the toxins in your life…and that often includes people! Go you for getting out there and doing things you always wanted to do…and then finding a passion for running! LOVE IT!
