What is your “Aha” moment? I feel that in fitness and/or health you have many of these moments. You have the moment that moves you to change something. You have the moment that makes you stick with it. You have the moment that makes it a lifestyle change.

My journey began in 2009 when I saw an ad for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. I was leading a sedentary lifestyle and that just wasn’t me. I had always been active up through high school. I had 8 months before the race so I registered and began with the Couch25K program. 8 months later I ran my first half marathon in 3:48:52. I’m pretty sure it was that time that I swore off ever running a half marathon again.

7 months later I PRed the Baltimore Half Marathon with a time of 2:48:32 I took an hour off my first time! I was jazzed! I haven’t looked back since. I have now run 13 half marathons.

Being someone that needs a challenge I signed up to do my first marathon. Not just ANY marathon, the Walt Disney World Marathon and while I was at it I signed up for the Goofy Challenge. The Goofy Challenge is 39.3 miles over 2 days. A half on Saturday and a full on Sunday, I figured go big or go home! I will say, it is worth every second! Especially the looks from runners when you say your first marathon is a goofy!! You get real proud of yourself.

Sadly, that is when the “blahs” set in for me. I knew I could run a half and a full now. What is next? What is the new goal? For me it is a triathlon! Which I am excited to do in the spring of 2013!

So find your goal(s), make a plan, and achieve it! Only you know what is possible for you!
