His name was Justin – and he was my “aha!” moment. He was a good friend and an awesome strength coach. It wasn’t until his death that I realize that there was more to life, and that being healthy and fit was the better way to go. The fall of 2008, I did what he kept telling me to do before he passed. I walked into Fleet Feet Sports in Knoxville and my life changed. Countless 5Ks, 10Ks, halfs and triathlons later, I started CrossFit this past year. I’ve recently set a goal of completing 13 races in 2013, with the first big race (my second marathon) of the year just completed at Disney in January. After a couple friends wanted to know more about what I do so, I started to try and blog at Lift. Teach. Love. Run. I believes that sharing my journey not only inspires others to live a healthier and fitter life, but also keeps me on track as well.
